The life of a Flerd (flocks of sheep and goats, & herd of cows).

On a rare occasion we let the flerd graze around the driveway area. This was August 2, 2023.

South Poll cattle grazing fresh spring grass in silvopasture

The cows were grazing this silvopasture (grassy pasture with plenty of trees) on April 27, 2023.  Our Jersey milk cow wants to be sure she gets her fair share. The South Poll cattle are in the background.

August grass pasture diversity: goats, texas longhorn, and south poll cows.

Maggie is the Texas Longhorn cow. Favorite is the front South Poll.  Note: Naming cows is Not recommended. You might get too attached to be able to cull them when the time comes.  Pic. taken August 6, 2023.

South Poll Cattle are short haired, slick hided, have oily hair coats for regenerative ranching.

This is 2423 - 81025 walking by the dog feeder on August 5, 2023.

Livestock guardian dogs patrol the flock.

2417-7331 licks an itch while grazing on August 6, 2023.

Shade trees are part of a regenerative ecosystem.

Time to head for the shade tree.  In the foreground is a steer getting closer to finishing.

Cattle, Katahdin hair sheep, and goats add diversity to our regenerative ranch.

The cool of the evening moon on July 31, 2023.  Last chance to get a bedtime snack.  Actually with a moon this bright they will graze a little during the night too. It was a great day to be a grazer.

They have a good life. We usually move them at least once a day onto fresh fully rested, recovered perennial grasses. This is part of nature's plan for a sustainable planet; converting grass to grass finished meat for healthy people.
